Mick De Paola

Sono Michele “Mick” De Paola, professionista audio/video, fotografo e sviluppatore indipendente con base a Milano. Ho creato Last Roll per macOS e Bordure per iPhone e iPad.

Mi annoio facilmente, quindi ho imparato a fare un po' di tutto: monto video, registro audio, scatto foto e scrivo codice. A volte anche nello stesso giorno.

Per professione lavoro con sistemi AV in ambienti dove non puoi sbagliare: sale operatorie, eventi live e broadcast. Poi ho scoperto la fotografia, e con lei l'idea che anche le emozioni abbiano una struttura: luce, linee, geometrie. Ora alterno cavi, codice e ottiche, ma il lavoro è sempre lo stesso: mettere ordine nel caos.

I’m Michele “Mick” De Paola, an audio/video specialist, photographer and independent developer based in Milan. I created Last Roll for macOS and Bordure for iPhone and iPad.

I get bored easily, so I learned to do a bit of everything: edit video, record audio, take photos and write code. Sometimes all in the same day.

By profession, I work with AV systems in environments where failure isn't an option: operating rooms, live events and broadcast. Then I discovered photography, and with it the idea that emotions have structure too: light, lines, geometry. Now I switch between cables, code and lenses, but the job is always the same: bringing order to chaos.
